What is Matcha ? And what are its benefits ?

"Matcha" means "ground tea" in Japanese. it's a very finely powdered green tea. A quality matcha is recognizable by its bright green color. 💚

This drink with a unique taste first has a Chinese origin and is today mainly part of the Japanese tradition where it has been consumed several centuries ago. 🇯🇵

The origins of matcha :

Matcha was discovered 900 years ago. Over the years, the tradition was lost in China, while it was deeply rooted in the country of the rising sun. The Japanese tea producers have continued to develop this technique in an effort to maximize the potential and therapeutic benefits of matcha. 🌱

Shortly afterwards, Japanese Buddhists gave a new twist in the history of matcha, when they began to cover the tea bushes during the last weeks before the leaves were harvested, a method which was shown to significantly increase the health benefits of matcha. 🎎
